Who Else Is Considering Space Tourism?

For the truly adventurous or science minded tourist, space tourism may be very appealing.  Over the last decade  there has been all kinds of promotions of space tourism.   Oddly enough, there is a very long waiting list for this experimental venture, despite the HUGE costs involved.  The price tag for this adventure is somewhere around US $20 million which is not something everybody can dish out for fulfilling a whim.

Making Space Tourism a Reality for You: How?

With the mind-blowing price tag, most of us earthlings will just stay where we are – on Terra Firma. However, for those who are bitten by the adventure bug and want to go into the space anyhow – here are some possibilities. You have about five to ten years to plan ahead before the space tourism becomes a reality for the world. This would give you plenty of time to redirect your life towards this new goal.  And lots of time to save for the travel costs involved too.

Journalists Have a Good Chance

The easiest way of all to join the space tourism bandwagon is to  become a journalist specializing in outer space tours. Someone would have to cover these things and bring it to the "space tourism for dummies" level for the common man who cannot afford the trip. That person could very well be you. So, you would need to find out a channel or production station that would buy such an idea and offer you the required training and sponsorship.  Remember, you have five to ten years to set it all up.

They Will Need Space Aircraft Pilots, Won't They?

Another great way to be part of the space tourism program is to aim to become a spacecraft pilot. This a little tougher than the first option, but it is a possibility none the less. Check out with the NASA in the USA or contact other space stations in Europe and see what their requirements for such positions are. According to some reports, there is a growing demand for space craft pilots and you could just land yourself with a major career change.

For The Rest Of US, There Is Virtual Reality

Virtual reality is a good option for those who want the experience space travel without any of the risks involved or having to part with millions of dollars for the trip. You can do amazing things with the computers today and very soon you would be able to experience space tourism in controlled environment without lifting an inch away from Earth. This would cost a tiny fraction of the real thing – and still offer you an amazing insight about this adventure.

The least probable but a possibility none the less, would be that you win a lottery – and in case you still want to part with the money, you could then buy a seat on the space shuttle that offers a trip into the space in the future. Have fun planning your great adventure!  I think the virtual reality option is the one for me! 
