Dogs Get Motion Sick Too!
Believe it or not some dogs get motion sick just like humans do. When a dog feels ill during a car ride, it can be quite distressing for both the dog and the owner, since they are not able to communicate their feelings in the way a human can.
Motion sickness in dogs runs a similar course to human motion sickness – starting with pallor and nausea, and being followed with several episodes of vomiting which do nothing to make the animal feel better.
Animal experts agree that motion sickness in dogs is caused by disagreement between the senses, that is, the brain receiving mixed messages as to whether the dog is moving or sitting still. After a few episodes of motion sickness, the dog may also become anxious about traveling in cars, which makes the problem worse. Read more
