An Overview of Motion Sickness Drugs

Motion sickness is not really a sickness in the common sense of the word – rather than being something you can 'catch', motion sickness is caused by the environment you are in – if your ears and your eyes are sending different reports to the brain – for example your eyes seeing you being stationary in your cabin, but the ear feeling the boat you are on rocking, then the brain will decide you are hallucinating, and make you vomit to try to remove the hallucinogenic substance it thinks you have ingested from the body. Should You Carry a Motion Sickness Bag?

Motion sickness is a highly unpleasant affliction which can ruin the travelling experience for people who suffer from it.  It can affect people using a variety of forms of transport, including cars, buses, trains, boats and even planes – especially if there is turbulence on your flight.  For many sufferers, the embarrassment of needing to vomit in a vehicle, but not having anywhere to do it without making a mess, can be a worse feeling than the motion sickness itself.  It is wise, therefore, for people who suffer frequently to carry a motion sickness bag just in case.   Read more
